What Westville's weather is like
Westville sits inland, south of Michigan City, so it usually gets less lake-effect snow than the lakeshore, but a band that sets up along the lake's southern end can still reach it. When a lake-effect snow warning goes out, the Weather Service lists the zones it covers; the live box on this page shows any alert that includes Westville.
Spring and summer storms here usually come from the west, crossing Porter County first, which gives Westville a few minutes' head start on La Porte. Keep Wireless Emergency Alerts turned on and a NOAA Weather Radio programmed for La Porte County (code 018091).
