What Kingsford Heights's weather is like

Kingsford Heights is far enough south of the lake that lake-effect snow is usually lighter than on the lakeshore, but a strong band can still reach it. The open land around town lets wind blow snow across roads, so drifting can be the bigger problem on windy winter days.

Severe storms are the main warm-season worry here, as in all of La Porte County. When a tornado warning includes the town, go to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor.
