Mostly cloudy and mild today. Today, NWS says: A slight chance of rain showers before 6 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51.
Monday: a chance of showers (20%), high near 65. Tuesday: mostly cloudy, then a chance of showers (30%), high near 73; Tuesday night showers likely (70%). Wednesday: showers (80%), high near 67; Wednesday night showers likely (70%). Thursday and Friday: a chance of showers at times (40%), highs 59 to 63. The models disagree on Monday's high, so that is less certain.
What changed in NWS's forecast since yesterday's Scoop: the rain is out of Monday night's forecast (it was 30%) and Tuesday's chance of rain is now 30% (from 60%). NWS Northern Indiana forecasters' key messages this morning: "Mostly cloudy today but remaining mild with highs well into the 60s and perhaps low 70s." "Very warm on Tuesday and breezy followed by increasing rain chances through Wednesday (60% chance)." Yesterday we said a high of 62; the La Porte airport got 59.
Right now there are no watches, warnings or advisories for La Porte County or for Porter and Lake counties next door. SPC shows only general thunderstorms here Tuesday, none today and Monday, and WPC shows no flooding-rain risk at La Porte through Thursday.
