A great day to be outside. Today, NWS says: Sunny, with a high near 74. Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 56. The La Porte airport at 3:55 a.m.: fog and 48.
Thursday: showers likely (60%), high near 72; Thursday night a slight chance of showers (20%), then partly cloudy. Friday through Monday: a chance of showers at times (20 to 50%), highs 64 to 67. NWS says a low around 56 tonight; our blend of NWS and four computer models says 49, so that's our forecast. The models disagree on tonight's low, so that is less certain.
What changed in NWS's forecast since yesterday's Scoop: Thursday night's chance of rain is now 20% (from 50%), the rain is out of Friday's forecast (it was 20%) and Thursday night's low is now 44 (from 50). NWS Northern Indiana forecasters' key messages this morning: "Warm and dry today with highs in the mid 70s." "Very light rain is possible on Thursday followed by slightly cooler temperatures." Yesterday we said a high of 70; the La Porte airport got 70.
Right now there are no watches, warnings or advisories for La Porte County or for Porter and Lake counties next door. SPC shows no thunderstorm or severe risk here through Friday, and WPC shows no flooding-rain risk at La Porte through Sunday.
