The NWS active-alert feed listed no watches, warnings or advisories for La Porte County at 8:46 a.m. Central. Tuesday's Beach Hazards Statement has expired. NWS forecast guidance still calls for a moderate swim risk along northern La Porte County through this evening, so use caution near Lake Michigan and check the live beach forecast before entering the water.

Today: cool, cloudy, and mainly dry locally

Temperatures should reach the lower to middle 60s. Pockets of drizzle or light rain remain possible, but NWS places the better 20–40% rain chances mainly south of U.S. 24. Rain totals there should generally struggle to reach one-quarter inch, and much of La Porte County may stay dry.

Clouds ease late; dry Thursday through the weekend

Low-level moisture should begin thinning after about 4 p.m. Central, allowing clouds and any spotty drizzle to diminish. Thursday turns drier with more sunshine and a high near 70. NWS expects the dry, seasonably cool pattern to continue through the weekend before temperatures warm into the 70s early next week.

Forecast uncertainty: Drizzle is difficult to pinpoint and may miss La Porte entirely. Cloud-clearing time can also shift by a few hours, so afternoon temperatures depend on how quickly breaks develop.
