Today: dry and comfortable
NWS Northern Indiana expects sunshine, comfortable humidity and highs in the 70s. East-southeast wind strengthens gradually during the day. No rain is expected around La Porte today.
Tuesday: warmer, humid and potentially stormy
Rain and storm chances range from 20–50% through much of Tuesday, highest north and west, then rise to 40–80% Tuesday evening as a cold front approaches. NWS says isolated severe storms are possible, with damaging wind the main hazard if storms strengthen.
Forecast uncertainty: Confidence in severe weather is low. Earlier showers could reduce instability, the front could arrive later, and weak midlevel temperature changes may limit storm strength. A mostly dry Tuesday is still possible in some guidance. Check later forecasts before changing plans.
Lake Michigan
Southwest winds may gust 25–30 mph on and along Lake Michigan tonight into Tuesday. NWS forecasts a moderate swim risk Tuesday for Berrien County beaches, with 2–3-foot waves and strong currents. The morning discussion did not list a beach statement for La Porte County.
