Weather and safety
La Porte Weather Now provides general weather and community information, not professional emergency advice. Conditions can change quickly. Follow official National Weather Service, emergency-management, utility and public-safety instructions. Call 911 for emergencies. Never approach a downed power line.
Privacy
La Porte Weather Now does not use advertising trackers or create visitor profiles. We keep aggregate daily counts of page loads and broad interaction categories so we can understand whether the service is useful. The analytics table contains only a date, category, label, and count. It does not contain names, IP addresses, user agents, precise locations, cookies, device IDs, referrers, or individual event histories. Aggregate counts may be retained for up to 24 months.
If you voluntarily join the email list, we store the email address, signup source, consent record, status and signup time. If you submit a sponsorship inquiry, we store the business and contact information you provide so Daniel can respond. This information is used only to provide the requested updates or discuss the requested business relationship; it is not sold. You may request deletion or unsubscribe by emailing laporteweathernow@gmail.com.
To support installation and safer offline use, your browser may store app files and the most recently verified forecast on your device. That information is not transmitted back to us as analytics and can be removed by clearing this site's browser data or uninstalling the app.
Our hosting provider may process ordinary technical request logs for security and service operation. Following an external link transfers you to that organization, whose privacy practices apply. This service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
Editorial and sourcing standards
Forecast data comes from NOAA's National Weather Service, whose API is offered as open data free to use for any purpose. Community resources are presented as direct links with independently written descriptions. We do not republish full articles, photographs, logos, or substantial excerpts without permission. Linked organizations control their own information and may update or remove it.
We aim to distinguish verified facts, estimates and commentary; correct material errors promptly; and give urgent public-safety information priority over commercial considerations. A link does not imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation.
Sponsors, paid placements and affiliate links
Paid relationships will be disclosed clearly and close to the relevant content using labels such as Advertisement, Paid sponsorship or Featured event—paid placement. Sponsors do not control forecasts, alerts, outage reporting, or editorial conclusions. A sponsorship is not an endorsement unless expressly stated. If a link may earn us a commission, we will say that we may receive a commission before or beside the link. We will not make unsupported claims supplied by an advertiser.
Advertisers are responsible for having the rights to names, logos, photographs, claims, and offers they provide. La Porte Weather Now will keep written records of sponsorship terms and income and comply with applicable tax and business-registration requirements.
Copyright and trademarks
Original site text and branding belong to La Porte Weather Now to the extent protected by applicable law. The courthouse photograph is used under CC BY 3.0, credited and linked in the footer, and cropped and color-treated for display. The social-preview image is AI-generated promotional artwork and is not presented as a documentary photograph. Third-party names, trademarks, reporting, and event information remain the property of their respective owners. Their names are used only to identify and link to their services.
Future newsletters
If email updates are introduced, subscriptions will be voluntary. Commercial messages will identify the sender, include a valid mailing address and provide a working unsubscribe method. We will not add people to marketing lists without a lawful basis.
Changes and legal review
These standards may change as the service grows. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. This page is a transparency statement, not legal advice or a substitute for review by a qualified Indiana attorney.
